Ok, as promised...I'm finally resuming my posts to DA.
I recently took a photo trip to Death Valley, Ca....my first time there. It's been a long time since I went anywhere for the soul purpose of photography. Anyway, needless to say, I took alot of pictures! This first batch of posts I am submitting were all taken with my Canon Elph PowerShot S110. Not the most flexible of digital cameras, but a nice one regardless. I tried to capture images within it's limitations.
Cropped a hair off the top & just a tad of curve adjustments in PS. The Death Valley Sand Dunes outside of Stovepipe Wells were the highlight of the trip. Taken in the late afternoon...it was 90º (March 7, 2004). There were alot of people there, lots of footprints! I was able to find a patch of virgin sand to catch these ripples.
Thank you very much!
Yes, it was late in the day & the light was casting nice shadows that enhanced the patterns. As I recall, it was hard finding a spot that hadn't been trampled over with footprints.

Daily Literature Deviations is a group that is dedicated to bringing literature to the forefront of the deviantArt community. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it. Each day we will feature 5 deviations from the Literature categories in a News Article.
In order to support the artists that we feature, we ask that you the news article as well as check out the individual pieces. We understand that each day you may not be able to check out each and every one of the pieces, everyone has their own things going on. We just ask that you make an attempt to help support the growing Literature community.
This contest ends on Friday the 18th December 2009. If you want to enter, get your entries in quick! Here are all the entries so far. Also if you want to donate a prize, that would be fantastic too, just note me

"Judging soly on his DA page, hakfest is gay."
You know, now that you mention it...it sure does!!
It's always great to get another eyes perspective, because they see things that you don't.
I often feel my images tend to get "lost" amongst the many that are here on DA.

3.5 out of 5 something
I would love to go back & shoot with my DSLR. Unfortunately, this was shot w/ my little 2.3 megapixel Canon Elph. Great shot, but poor resolution!

I love the textures of the sand. It's also just the right amount of saturation.
